For five weeks in the Autumn, Stoke plays host to British Ceramics Biennial festival with an ambitious programme of exhibitions, site-specific installations, events and hands on activities. We work with international, emerging and established artists to present new ideas, new works and new forms of expression with clay which extend our understanding and appreciation of contemporary ceramics.
The current festival site at The Goods Yard (near Stoke train station) hosts the free festival which runs from now to 17 October 2021.
It is open to the public from Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
Entry is free and there is no need to book.
The British Ceramics Biennial (BCB) is a festival of contemporary ceramics that takes place in Stoke-on-Trent with other venues including The Spode Works, The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, Airspace, and a fringe festival at Valentine Clay. These venues may have different opening times – Please check the programme or contact the venue.
Initiated in 2009, BCB has grown to be the single largest ceramics event in the UK, a flagship cultural project for Stoke-on-Trent City Council, and a catalyst for regeneration. We present artworks from the UK’s leading ceramicists alongside work by international artists, in exhibitions and special events held across the city. BCB is underpinned by an exciting year-round programme of artists’ commissions, education and community engagement projects.
British Ceramics Biennial is proud to be an Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation (NPO).
